Two very special Woolly Babs Olympic T-shirts wowed the crowds at the Olympic Park.

Woolly Babs Olmpic T shirt Javelin Train

Sometimes Babs needs a break from Christmas jumpers so when her son and daughter got Olympic tickets, she put down a Rudolph jumper, got her box of bits out and put her thinking cap on.

She was soon at her sewing machine getting the big bits done then it was needle and thread. In record time, she had a pair of matching t shirts rustled up. Quite appropriate when they were for a synchronised diving event.

The day was quite an adventure.

Laura and Frank set off for the Olympic Park on the high speed Javelin train and were propelled to Stratford in just 8 minutes. Here Laura is overpowered by the g-force.

Everything was so well organised we could go straight in. The soldiers on security loved the t shirts and said they were the best they'd seen. "Welcome to MOD airlines," said one. As soon as we were in, a Games worker offered to take our photo for us. How kind!

We had a walk round and started getting very excited about seeing the diving. Here we are outside the Aquatics Centre. Something about Babs' t shirts just got us in the diving mood as we entered the venue.

Once inside, the atmosphere was amazing. And not just because of our t shirts. We were instantly hooked on the diving - Women's Synchronised 3m Springboard. Team GB divers Alicia Blagg and Rebecca Gallantree were fantastic, even from where we were sitting (about half a mile away!).

They didn't manage a medal this time after their third dive went a bit wonky, but the support from the crowd must have felt like a real achievement in itself.

We had a great day, in no small way because of our t shirts! People kept telling us how much they liked them. And of course there was a squeaker, hidden away in the diver's bottom!

Thanks mum!

And what a shame this reporter missed out on his team's gold medal performance!

Babs is now back on with her Christmas jumper making. To her it's nearly Christmas already!
